A key role in global compliance and corporate legal work

Normet Group is now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our global team in a permanent position. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of developing and managing our compliance operations on a global scale within an innovative, international technology company. The role is based in Espoo headquarter.

As Legal Counsel, your primary responsibility will be to drive the development and operational management of Normet’s compliance functions worldwide. The scope includes areas such as trade compliance, competition law compliance, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering, data protection, and – to some extent – product safety and environmental compliance.

You will work in a multicultural and international environment, ensuring that compliance programs are effectively implemented across different countries and business areas. While the General Counsel provides strategic leadership and support, you will independently manage the practical execution and continuous improvement of compliance initiatives.

Alongside compliance, you will handle a variety of corporate and commercial legal tasks, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, and legal risk management. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across sales areas, business units, and group functions worldwide. Depending on your background and expertise, your role can also cover areas such as IPR & technology law, employment law, or international trade.

As Normet operates globally, the role may occasionally involve travel within Finland and abroad, offering opportunities to collaborate closely with international colleagues and partners.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a legal professional who is proactive, independent, and able to drive compliance initiatives across diverse business areas and cultures. Your ability to collaborate, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing situations will be key to your success in this position.

To succeed in this role, you will likely have:

• Master’s degree in Law (Fi: OTM) from Finland or abroad

• 3–5 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on compliance and regulatory matters

• Experience in contract law and corporate law

• Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following is an advantage: IPR & technology law, employment law, international trade law

• Understanding of multicultural and international business environments; ability to implement compliance programs across different countries and cultures

• Proactive, independent, and trustworthy approach to work

• Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish
