An excellent opportunity to gain insight into the work of an international in-house legal team

We are looking for a proactive and diligent Legal Assistant with a can-do attitude for the Legal Department of Georg Fischer, GF Building Flow Solutions division, at the Ilmala office in Helsinki for a fixed term of 2–4 months. Helsinki based legal team consists of four lawyers and a Legal Assistant, whose substitute we are now recruiting. The team also includes a lawyer based in Germany, and the entire team reports to the GF Group General Counsel in Switzerland. Additionally, part of the GF Compliance and Data Protection team is located in Helsinki.

This role is ideal for a law student who is looking to deepen their legal skills in a dynamic and international legal team. It offers a great opportunity to apply and expand the knowledge gained during your studies in a practical setting. The position is particularly well-suited for someone interested in contract law and the day-to-day work of an in-house legal team. The role offers flexibility to combine work with your studies, with the option to agree on part-time or full-time working hours. Remote work is possible after the initial onboarding. The position will start as soon as possible and will be filled immediately once the right candidate is found.

In this role, you will be responsible for contract management, including archiving and overseeing a contract database migration project, ensuring efficient and accurate data transfer between systems. You will also maintain contract and subsidiary company information, liaise with authorities (e.g., for document legalisation), and assist with gathering legal documentation. Additional responsibilities include drafting corporate documents, providing general support to the legal team, and handling routine administrative tasks.

What We’re Looking for in a Legal Assistant

You are likely a law student, or you have relevant experience in contract and corporate law through your studies or work experience. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both spoken and written Finnish and English. We value a proactive attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

We expect you to have:

• Relevant studies in law, business, or a related field
• Strong communication skills in both Finnish and English
• A proactive, independent, and reliable approach to work
• Strong IT skills
• Excellent collaboration and time-management abilities

Considered an asset:

• Previous experience in similar legal assistant or trainee roles
• Additional language skills
