About the role 

As a Legal Trainee at Supercell, you will work closely with our team to help develop games that captivate players for decades. You will work on a range of in-house legal tasks, with a focus on contracts and commercial matters. Your role will involve ensuring smooth contract processes and supporting business owners with legal questions and contract-related matters. 

Your daily tasks 

• Reviewing contracts, with an emphasis on commercial agreements
• Overseeing the legal inbox and contract review workflows using our contract lifecycle management platform
• Supporting our Legal Team and business owners by assisting in various tasks and stepping in when needed to ensure smooth operations
• Communicating between different internal stakeholders

You will be based in our Helsinki office, which brings together colleagues from over 40 nationalities, united by a love for games. Here, you will collaborate with the Legal Team — a group of five passionate professionals supporting every corner of Supercell in legal matters. We currently have two openings, with the preferred start date for the first position in August 2025 and the second in February 2026. Both roles are full-time, each with an eight-month fixed term. When submitting your application, kindly specify the position for which you are applying. 

What we are looking for

You already have a good deal of studies (at least 180 ECTS credits) behind you and you are familiar with the basics of contract law. You have a business-oriented approach to legal issues and some legal work experience, for example, from another traineeship. While we do not expect you to be an expert in all areas, we hope that you are eager to deepen your expertise and have a proactive approach to your work. Given that you will be part of an international team, proficiency in both written and spoken English is a prerequisite. 

We expect you to have:

• A minimum of 180 ECTS credits of completed legal studies

• Demonstrated legal experience, either at a law firm or in an in-house legal role

• Working proficiency in English

• A strong eagerness to deepen your expertise across various tasks and a commitment to collaboration

• A proactive, self-directed, and business-oriented approach to legal issues

Bonus points if you have:

• A background or interest in games or the gaming industry

• Practical experience in contract drafting and review

• A basic understanding of intellectual property rights (IPR) and data protection

• Familiarity with the essentials of consumer protection and marketing laws
